About Us

The National Equestrian Centre’s objective is to provide world class agistment, instruction and training.

The Centre operates from a purpose built facility designed to cater for all aspects of involvement in equestrian sports. Established in 1993 we aim to “lead the field”, to ensure that not only are the Centre’s clients best served but also to improve support in the community for all current, intending and prospective equestrians.

The Centre is on “Kerrabee”, a historic property – 1500 acres of picturesque rolling countryside on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River overlooking the foothills of the Brindabella range. Just 10 km from Parliament House and at the geographic axis of Canberra immediately adjacent to the suburbs of Weston Creek and Mt Stromlo observatory, the Centre is easily accessible from all parts of Canberra.

The Centre provides a wide range of facilities for agisting your horse here. From paddocks to stables; whilst we encourage owner care we provide any support up to full board and training services (including for holiday periods).

The Centre’s instruction and training program caters for all ages and capabilities of riders from beginners through to the training of instructors for national accreditation. With a strong emphasis on horsemanship, riders trained at the Centre can be confident that the basis of skills provided will enable them to pursue any interest area in the world of equestrian pursuits and sports.

The Centre caters for special interest groups. Look through the website. Call us or email if you have any suggestions or specific enquiries.

The Centre is a caring learning facility with high standards of horsemanship, horse welfare and environmental care.
