Vaulting

Vaulting is defined as “Gymnastics on the moving horse” and the National Equestrian Centre is a major centre for vaulting in the Australia. Flexibility, strength, coordination, team work and horsemanship are all important skills developed through vaulting. In competition Vaulting combines these skills with performances choreographed to music. It is a great opportunity to gain the connection and advantages of working with a horse while not requiring a vaulter to own their own horse. An ongoing vaulting program for all levels and ages from beginners to international competitors is provided by NEQC. Anybody can vault and become a top level vaulter! All our riders are introduced to vaulting in stage two of the Stages program.

Coaches

Our specialist vaulting coaches are qualified or training with the Equestrian Australia National Coaching Accreditation Scheme. Highly experienced vaulters, they have represented NEQC at state and national level. Some of them have even represented Australia at the World Equestrian Games.

Competition

The NEQC Vaulting club regularly competes and has representatives at State and National level competition. A number of our vaulters have competed internationally in both team and individual events.

The Vaulting club has also taken part in exchanges internationally, giving vaulters the opportunity to travel overseas, experience different cultures and seen how vaulting is done in other parts of the world.
